Barcelona

Barcelona

Recently I had the opportunity to travel with a great friend of mine to Barcelona. If I’m being honest it was actually a gift from my parents for graduating college, FINALLY! So the two of us went on a 10 day trip to Spain, first stop in Barcelona and then headed to Mallorca. I have to say Barcelona is beyond beautiful. If you were ever considering going, GO. I couldn’t believe how everywhere we went it was so amazing and the people are so friendly. We had two and a half days in Barcelona before heading out so we hit the ground running. Our flight landed at 10am and we didn’t waste anytime napping, believe me we both could have used it, at the end we were up for almost 36 hours but SO worth it! We stayed at the Hotel Silken Ramblas which was just down the block from La Rambla. It was great for us because I personally love to stay on the side streets, not always in the busiest area. I feel like this way you can really see what the city has to offer than just the main focal points, this way we had a bit of both.

Barcelona La Rambla

La Rambla is always buzzing with tourists and every morning after breakfast before we started on our day, we would first stop to get gelato. I have to say here in the states they just don’t do gelato like they do over there!

On our first day we decided to stay around the hotel and just walk around. We knew the second and third day we were going to go on the metro and will be taking a bus ride. So after settling in the hotel we went for dinner by water.

The following day we took the Hop On Hop Off bus tour to see all that Barcelona has to offer. Our first stop was the Cathedral, which was beyond beautiful. We wanted to go inside but unfortunately the tours were sold out for the day.

Next we went to Park Güell, which I have to say if you ever take a trip here, you have to make a stop at this park. Not only is the park itself so beautiful but the views are amazing!

Here’s a pic of my bestie Eva, isn’t she so cute!

On our last day, we had a flight to catch to Mallorca at 5:30, we decided to get an early start and take the metro to Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.

Even the inside of the museum was incredible! There was much Spanish art and the whole experience was amazing because it was early on a Wednesday morning so the museum wasn’t as packed. We both felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Now unfortunately I took pictures of some of my favorite paintings but the information of the artist and the titles somehow were deleted off my phone! I was so upset but I decided to put them in this post anyway just so you can take a look.
